BMX Championship Sarah Walker gets pumping adrenaline with riding around the tower
BMX champion Sarah Walker has tried her nerves by riding around the edge of New Zealand’s tallest building – Auckland’s Sky Tower.
Walker, a silver medallist at the 2012 London Olympics, explored her bicycle around the 192m-high SkyWalk circuit five times today to commend a long time since the fascination opened.
In spite of being fastened to the building the ride got her blood pumping, the 29-year-old said.
“Getting out onto the ring it felt as though I was going to begin a big showdown race. Each time around was startling, I think it nearly got more unnerving as my cerebrum acknowledged what I was really doing,” said Walker, who strolled the circuit before in the year.
AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand overseeing chief and prime supporter Henry van Asch, a previous New Zealand mountain bicycle champion himself, said he couldn’t think about a superior approach to praise the SkyWalk experience’s tenth birthday celebration.
“At Bungy we’re tied in with testing individuals with new encounters, and keeping in mind that the vast majority would discover the walk itself a test, Sarah has taken it to another level today by riding around it.”
