Three cops dead in US shooting
WASHINGTON: Three cops were killed and three harmed in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday, with no less than two suspects everywhere, police said.
“Three law requirement (officers) are affirmed dead, three others harmed,” the East Baton Rouge sheriff’s office said in an announcement. “One think is dead, law requirement trusts two others might be on the loose.”
The shooting occurred along a roadway around 9:00 am (1400 GMT), the announcement added.It shows up the episode started before cops were at the scene.
“It’s my understanding that they (the officers) had reacted to an underlying shooting occurrence,” Casey Rayborn Hicks, open issues officer for the sheriff’s office, told neighborhood WAFB TV.
Witness Brady Vancel told the station that he saw what may have been group individuals shooting at each other before police arrived.
“This has nothing to do with any circumstance,” he said, alluding to discussions encompassing a progression of prominent shootings including police that have stunned the nation in the course of the most recent a few weeks.
A shooter killed five cops in Dallas not long ago amid an exhibit activated by the lethal police shooting of two African-American men whose diminishing minutes were caught in stunning video footage that became famous online on the web.
One of those killed was Alton Sterling, shot by a cop in Baton Rouge two days before the Dallas assault.
